We were lucky to move to our brand new building at 26 Ferrers Street, Mount Gambier in 2017 and have been making use of our state of the art facility. Blue Lake Vet Clinic has been owned by Dr Caroline Weston, Head Veterinarian and Julie Taylor, Head Veterinary Nurse, since 2012. We were lucky to move to our brand new building at 26 Ferrers Street, Mount Gambier in 2017 and have been making good use of our state of the art facility.

The clinic is home to a couple of permanent residents. You will often be greeted on the phone by our two resident budgies, chirping in the background, Peter and Parker.

Lucille, our clinic cat is famous across Mount Gambier, and is often sitting at reception or in warmer weather sunning herself on the veranda.

Our team of experienced Veterinarians bring over 50 years of combined experience to the clinic. Our knowledgeable nurses make the team and our clinic values a friendly and professional veterinary approach.
Our Veterinarians
Dr Caroline Weston
Veterinarian BSc BVMS
Dr. Caroline Weston graduated from Murdoch University in 1986. She has a broad range of clinical experience including large and small animals, birds, reptiles and wildlife. Caroline takes a special interest in orthopaedic surgery, exotic animal medicine and diagnostic imaging. Caroline is a part owner with our Head Veterinary Nurse and Practice Manager Julie Taylor. Caroline has an eclectic group at home comprising of Enid the Bull Terrier, various rescue magpies and often visiting her are a Greyhound, another Bull Terrier and a Devon Rex cat.


Dr Nicole Tumminello
Veterinarian BVSC (Hons)
Dr. Nicole Tumminello graduated from the University of Sydney in 2001. Nicole has a wide range of experience in the veterinary field, she has an interest in orthopaedic surgery, complete patient care and client relations. Nicole is with us on Monday’s and some weekends. Nicole loves to grow her own produce and has two dogs, sheep, chickens and a budgie at home.
Dr Hannah O'Sullivan
Veterinarian BVSc (Hons)
Dr Hannah O'Sullivan is our newest team member, she graduated from the University Of Queensland in 2021. Hannah has a passion for all things canine, through all life stages from puppies to geriatric care. Hannah shares her home with her Whippet, Arty and a Blue Heeler x Border Collie called Sprout. You may see them out and about when she takes them for walks.


Dr Sophie Scott
Veterinarian BSc DVM
Dr Sophie Scott graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2018. With her special interest in behaviour medicine, Sophie exclusively offers behaviour consulting services.
She completed a 10 month course in behavioural medicine through the Centre for Veterinary Education in 2023 and is currently studying to become a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Veterinary Behaviour.
A self-professed cat lady, Sophie lives with her three rescue felines Figaro Edwin, Stelmaria Spoon, and Vespertine Bones.

Dr Gabriel Barron-Smith
Veterinarian BVSc
Gabriel graduated from James Cook University, Townsville in 2024 and first joined our clinic during his student placement. He developed a strong connection with our team and the Mount Gambier community, which led him to return as a full-time veterinarian. Gabriel’s professional interests lie in internal medicine and feline health, and he is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care for his patients. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys following sports, in particular rugby and soccer, reflecting his Queensland roots, and making the most of the lifestyle and natural beauty the Limestone Coast has to offer.


Dr Tina Blom
Veterinarian BSc DVM
Dr Tina graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2016 and has joined our clinic with a wealth of knowledge and experience. She has a strong focus on patient and client care and a keen interest in internal medicine, diagnostics, and surgery. Tina is passionate about delivering the highest standard of veterinary care and supporting her patients through every stage of their health journey. Outside of work, she’s an avid adventurer who loves hiking, running, rock climbing, and exploring the outdoors. At home, she’s kept busy by her two dogs, Sam and Ted, and her cheeky white magpie, Arty.
